LOST: Lockdown

How do the rest of you feel about Locke "with hair"? He looks pretty lame if you ask me. Bald is much more "macho". But apparently Mr. Macho has an "inner child" begging to be accepted and loved. And we see he wasn't QUITE as pathetic as we previously thought. He actually had a relationship with Helen; she wasn't just his group therapy leader.

The biggest surprise for me wasn't that "Henry" was being less than truthful, but that Dharma is still active!! I had thought they had stumbled upon a project started years ago that was just continuing to limp along, that they were dealing with the vestiges of the Project. But apparently it is an ongoing project - they air dropped the food! [I suppose it's possible they had a prepaid contract with someone to do that periodically, and that third party is just fulfilling their contract.]

So was the "locke"down tied into the airdrop? Was the purpose of the lockdown to keep the people in the bunker from signaling the plane making the drop? And what was Jack doing in Thailand (a little info about the tattoo given)? And how come he plays poker better than Mr. Wheeler-Dealer? And weren't Jack and Kate just too cute with their little "ahhh-gee" smiles towards each other? Will Locke be crippled by this accident? (Did you squirm when the blastdoor went down on his legs?) Will he revert to his pre-island paralysis or be "miraculously" healed? And how did Locke get crippled in the first place? Did those two thugs break his legs? Did his father do something to him AGAIN? [How many of you wanted Locke to just say "Sayonara" when his father wanted to use him again?] And, finally....NOT Hurley!!

First off...Hurley what???did I miss something about him? Other than the "loop" comment he was making?

Locke...um, yeah I really thought he would have just said "good-bye" to his dad! I am thinking that he was in a car accident chasing Helen...or maybe the nhb bgvb rfv ggre fre32wdc ew1 are waiting for him. maybe his dad tipped them off? but his legs are interesting!! (or back) I thought for sure that Henry was going to escape when the walls went down and not reset the numbers. guess I was wrong! What was that map? Will Locke be able to remember all of it? Did he get a good enough look at it? Henry and the numbers...he rattled them off too fast!! Locke should have known that one!! What a fake! We so wanted to believe his story, and yet we knew he was an "other"! CREEP!!

See...I told you that they were going to work that tatoo into the story line! Thailand. Hmmm...getting his dad? a little retreat from the wife? a honeymoon? any guesses? Remember going to Australia was not the first trip to save his dad!

They are ntot going to be able to hide Kates belly for long, her face is getting a little round! :) So, were the glances and little exchanges last night between her and Jack setting this whole thing up?

Air dropped food....that is good! Henry must have known that was happening which is why he didn't want Locke to hear what was going on! He could here the intercom. Did he really get knocked out when he fell? he seemed pretty strong when he jumped into the vent! and fast too!!

OK...more later!

"the nhb bgvb rfv ggre fre32wdc ew1"? That is waaay too complicated for me. Did your fingers slip on the keyboard or do those letters really stand for something?

Concerning Thailand: If that is where Jack learned to play poker, as good as he plays he would have had to have been there for a long time! Jack HAS to have something bad in his background that hasn't been shown yet.

As for Hurley...didn't you see the previews for next week? And if there was vaccine in the bunker and Sawyer took all the medicines out of there, does that mean Jack now has them back? Or did Sawyer not take ALL the medicines. And if the vaccine had to be refrigerated (it was in a fridge in their bunker AND in the fridge in the medical bunker) and Sawyer took it, then did he ruin it by not refrigerating it? (Soooo many questions!)

The map: Did anybody count how many bunkers there were in all? And what's with the big question mark in the center of the island? I'd like to have a still of that map! Maybe someone will put it on line. Let me know if you see it!

"6 animals" - what I thought the hieroglphs were that time Locke didn't punch in the numbers fast enough

"6" numbers (7 if you count the total)

Were there 6 bunkers on that map? Cool black light, btw...

nhb bgvb rfv ggre fre32wdc ew1...

You didn't catch that? It was on their coats. It must be the name of the gang they are from! Can anyone figure out what it stands for?

OK, so I must have hit the wrong keys! I don't know what I was meaning to write, Anna was climbing on me while I was typing it and I didn't proof read! OOPS...

NO, I didn't see the previews for next week...do tell!!

It's not as bad as that! The previews showed Hurley becoming ill...with "the plague"? If he has been infected I do hope they have something to help him survive! I can't imagine the show without him. He adds a great touch. We have enough "angry" young men and women...we need at least ONE "dude". ;)(Although it IS annoying to have him repeat it so often...I would have gotten after my kids if they had adopted such a phrase. Can you imagine going for a job interview and calling everyone "dude"? Or Beth using the term when she gives a research presentation? Or Tim using it in the pulpit? No wonder Hurley was stuck in a "MacDonalds" kind of job! [I'm ever the practical one!]

Happy B'day, Laurie!! 30 is a GREAT age. I have come to the conclusion that the "perfect" age is 35. I'm convinced THAT will be the age of our resurrected bodies. ;) You're old enough to be taken seriously as an adult, but young enough that your face (and other body parts...) haven't been affected yet by gravity. AND you still have a metabolism that works! Rejoice!!
[One of my favorite quotes was by former Chief Justice Warren, who was in his 90's at the time. He said, "Oh, to be 70 again!" See...it's ALL relative. So enjoy "the NOW". Tomorrow you'll be even older!]

YEAH!! Deb said it so it must be true!! 35 is the perfect age, so...that means I am perfect right?!! (even though I never had a 30th birthday!!) OK...enough about me. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOJO!!

Ok, Two things real quick...

First, a theory. I think Locke's dad is the real Sawyer. Sawyer's (the one we know and love) real name isn't Sawyer. He took that name from the guy who conned his parents (and I think, if I remember correctly, killed his dad). It makes sense. Locke's dad is a con man, and he would have been in his 30's or so when Sawyer was a kid and his parents got conned.

Second thing. The lady that Locke was inspecting the house for in the flashback was Sayid's Nadia.

More later.

Ian, that was good!! Now, what did t-bone see? waiting to hear!!

BethsMomToo said...

It occurred to me that Locke's Dad, being a con-man, might be linked to Sawyer...but I never thought of that! That's good! And I didn't notice it was Nadia!

Why are all of these people somehow related? Is it purposeful OR are they trying to show the "6 Degrees" kind of thing? (there's that number 6 again!) It just doesn't seem possible that anyone could have influenced those people to get onto the same plane and arrange for it to go where it did!

sorry it took so long, the wife and I just watched the last two episodes.

first, the episode next week is about Hurley and he saw a guy that was dressed in pajamas like he was in a psyche ward. Hurley doesn't get infected, but thinks he's going crasy again. Maybe he does something that leads to something else bad.

the flies of the earth movement continues. next week they'll be swarming on the new food and fighting each other for it. now that they've been there for a certain amount of time, they're trying to set themselves up for success in the long run. its turning into a little more of a 'every man for himself' atmostphere.

Locke seemed to acknowledge that henry was trying to turn locke and jack against each other. I believe he was planted there by the 'others' to either get info on how much they know or disrupt them and turn them against each other or both. he's always asking questions he shouldn't know to ask.

it was interesting to see the dharma initiative continue. i know it had bene though previously that the project could have been partly a behavioral test to see if people would press a button. well, what better behavioral test than to drop a flat of food into a bunch of people stranded on an island with a diet consisting of papaya's and your occasional fish or pig.

why has locke stopped looking for answers? this one baffles me. he's just totally content to have 'his hatch' and thats it.

so hot lips saw charlie's gun. that should lead to some questions, shouldn't it? ummm... where'd you get that? maybe that will lead to seeing that he made some agreement with Sawyer. and now they have at least one gun that they may be able to use if they need the rest.

Jack showed Sawyer that he isn't in control, but only has what he has because Jack is ok with it for now.

that's all for now!

BethsMomToo said...

Yeah, I liked when Sawyer asked him why he hadn't asked for the guns and Jack said, "I don't need them yet." ;) Good one! Although it will take quite a bit to make Sawyer less cocky. Isn't is always the most insecure people that act like bantam roosters? [combo agricultural-psychological question ;)]

Hey, TBone...check out Todd Bolen's two blogs...he's a man after your own heart when it comes to April Fools Day! I read the personal blog first...he completely suckered me in and I just couldn't believe it! At first I kept waiting for a punch line, and when there wasn't one I read it a second time. THEN I had to read the comments to realize I had been fooled. I was so righteously indignant on his behalf, that I was torn in loyalty between Master's and him!! I haven't been so entirely bamboozled since you lived at home and felt it necessary to "fool" me every April 1st. Now that you're gone, I guess I have gotten out of the habit of being cautious on April 1st. ;)

Then I went to his archaeology blog and he had a good one there, too...but THAT one was more obvious to me as being a joke (a good idea...but a joke ;) Check them out if you haven't seen them yet.
