I'm a fourth year seminary student attempting to balance life, youth ministry, and academics along with preparing to have a child. This is about being in the world but not of the world. I'll talk about everything from the Word of God, my wife, recent books, the Red Sox, Lost, my ministry, interesting insights into our culture, and anything else that runs across my plate.

Now America is entirely confused about the baptism of Jesus and how to get to heaven! Sorry, but even RC theology believes Jesus was sinless. John the Baptiser didn't do it for Him. Seeing Hurley as John was a memorable moment, though.
Now Charlie is low man on the totem pole. Sawyer and hotlips have been elevated in status. It is interesting how quickly people on the island seem to forgive and forget. Wait for a few weeks and Charlie will be back up there. Will his dreams prove prophetic? He interpreted them to mean Aaron had to be baptized, but that wasn't necessarily the point of his dreams...Hurley aside.
And it looks like John needs to take some remedial anger management classes, though I think he was representing everyone's sentiments with those punches. Good old Jack has to do his job though! At least Charlie got some attention and initial forgiveness.
I don't like the previews for next week! How can they take one of my favorite characters?
That was way out there with Charlie...his brother was the one he is trying to get away from what is it that he needs to deal with? Is there a baby in Charlies past as well? Did anyone see the doll on the butcher block last night? Frightening. I think there is a deeper run with Charlie and they are not going to let us get to it until the END! (like with all of them, you don't know until they are dead)
Baptism, yeah way off! Who ever thought it would turn to that? BUT remember he isn't really a priest so, is he making things up as he goes? I think that is what he is doing, yes he remembers things that he has learned when he was younger. but does he really know what baptism is? Hopefully people watching this are not watching it for religious reasons! They are just "religiously" watching (haha).
Yeah, next week looks a little odd. Rain? hmmm...where did that come from? it looks like "they" made it happen and knew that they would catch them off guard. ok...I could be wrong!
ok...I will think of more later!
OK this is funny has anyone else looked at this?
www.driveshaftband.com take a look!! and read some of it! (Charlie is missing!) haha... look at the picture gallery too. NO I don't have too much time on my hands I just got "LOST" ;)
Remember the science teacher (that was later blown to smithereens - another memorable moment) said the monsoon season was near when they were building the raft? That might explain the rain.
Now that you mention it I did see the baby doll on the butcher block. You may be right about another infant in Charlie's past. Or it could have referred to Aaron being in danger. And come on, Jen, didn't you laugh when you saw Hurley in the dream?!
Ever notice that whenever something bad happens, particularly someone dying, that its always raining?
Rain = something bad's gonna' happen
Ian come on...silver lining on the cloud here...think better than that!
YEAH!!! LAUGHED OUT LOUD Hurley haha... that was funny!
Science teacher? OK...I forget that one remind me, or lend me your tape so I can watch it!
Jen,
Ernst the science teacher. He got blown up in season 1 when they brought the dynamite from the Black Rock to blow the cover off the hatch.
I was serious about the rain. Go back and look. Every time it rains on the island something bad happens.
OK...must have missed the episode with the science teacher. How did I not ever see a rerun? Thinking about it more, I just realized that I missed the episode when they decided to build the raft, I am assuming that it is all in the same episode am I right?
do you ever continually miss the same key episode? hate it when that happens!
Rain, yeah I know it is raining every time something bad happens...adding to that Walt is always dripping wet when he is seen too...I wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Did anyone look at drive shafts sight?
And I need to borrow a tape I would like to see Ernst get blown up, well...not really I just want to see that epidose. BMT, Do you still have it?
Best line in the series so far:
Hurley: Umm....you've got a little Ernst on ya'
Yes, you can borrow, but Beth may want to take them first and eventually Doug Wilcox wants to borrow them. But you only want an episode or two, so you'll be quick! You'll love the Ernest episode. It's actually one of my favorites. Sick, I know, but I don't think I've laughed that hard in a long time. There was another really good part to it, too, but I won't spoil it by telling you.
I just watched some of season one that I haven't seen- the Claire episode- it is interesting that the psychic was freaking out that she had to raise her baby and then put her on the plan knowing it would crash.
I also watched the Hurley episode- that was hilarious! Too funny. I also think the numbers thing was great and how the numbers were on outside of the bunker at the end. It was also interesting how Charlie got mad at Hurley for "thinking he was the only one who had baggage" how self-centered. I also love how the crazy french lady and Hurley got a long fine while not to long ago she tortured the Iraqi (who I can't remember his name).
I thought the baby episode was kind of lame compared to the quality of the other episodes.
Now that we've seen the next episode, we can see why they wanted to disparage Charlie and show another side of him we had not seen before. It was all a set up!
