I'm a fourth year seminary student attempting to balance life, youth ministry, and academics along with preparing to have a child. This is about being in the world but not of the world. I'll talk about everything from the Word of God, my wife, recent books, the Red Sox, Lost, my ministry, interesting insights into our culture, and anything else that runs across my plate.

Yikes! I forgot it was Wednesday night! Jen, why didn't you warn me? (a little blameshifting there)
ok, I still haven't watched it, but I didn't look at the comment above. I just wanted to put a couple things down that I just heard on a Lost Podcast on the way into school.
- The relationship between Locke and Mr. Echo will be very important. It will be one of them main relationships in the show. We pretty much figured this because they're both men of faith. I think Mr Echo's faith may be a little more in God and Locke's is a little more mystical.
- There will be a background episode on Mr Echo in January.
- Pay attention to the club that Mr Echo uses. The writings he carves into it will be important as will be the reason why.
- The love triangle between Sawyer, Kate, and Jack will get deeper. I think this was more conveyed in this last episode I haven't seen, but it makes sense. Kate had thought that Sawyer was gone and then they were going to send rescuers. Now that Sawyer is back, Kate knows no rescuers are coming and that opens up a bunch of feelings about what she has done in the past, and the way she feels about Jack and Sawyer.
- There will be a background episode on Desmond in the future. This was very interesting because the two writers that were doing the podcast were saying what we had been saying, that if Desmond really thought that the world was gonna blow, he wouldn't have run because that wouldn't have done any good. That is unless he knew where he was running from. They also said that there may be more of a background on Roussoue. I'm glad they won't let that part of the story slip too much.
- I also heard that we should pay attention to the Hans Foundation thinger. but I guess there may be something on that tonight.
well, that's all for now!
I once again missed the first 15 minutes of the show, I was out Wed. and mom taped it for me, (we still watched all the comercials forgetting we could fast forward!) duh!! BUT she forgot to turn it on until 10 or 15 min into the show!!! I do still love her, but I don't know how much of that I can handle! OK,OK, I won't write anything about this weeks episode until you watch it, BUT... I did hear on the news the did a lost special Wed night on the 11:00 news. dont you just love channel 9!
The numbers that are all "hurleys" numbers if you add them up they = 108.
The bears and polar bears all have some sort of thing to do with Walt.
I can't remember what some of the other things were that they pointed out, but I do want to know Echos past. He KNOWS his Bible! How are they going to use that in the show? Interesting...
Are we seeing dead people? Oh wait that was a movie. This is just way too addicting I am glad that I don't watch TV. I couldn't imagine what life would be like around here if I was like this EVERY night with a different show!
As for reminding you Deb, I will call you next week and let you know say, 9:15ish! haha... I will try to remind you though! I can't handle the blame for missing LOST! that is too much for me to bear! ;)
Did anyone tape it? I fell asleep before it even came on and then woke up in the middle to catch her dad telling her she had murder in her heart and then at the end when Sawyer woke up.
i watched a tape that a friend made, but he keeps them so i couldn't get it from him. i'm a little confused after this episode...
ok, first, did Sawyer actually say, why did you kill me? or was that Kate imagining it. I'd think that he actually did since she did see the horse on the island. Does the horse symbolize a second chance?
when Kate was talking to Sawyer and trying to talk to Wayne through him we could quite understand it all. Did she see Wayne every time she saw Sawyer or something else?
Locke and Echo are going to be good together. although, it was a little wierd. when they were looking at each other it just seemed like there should have been someone singing "I think I love you, but what am I so afraid of!" but I got thinking about Locke and how last season and the beginning of this season he was all abou the island telling him something and its like he's almost stopped searching and now is content to just sit there and hit numbers. Maybe Echo will push him more.
about the new video- did it really say anything other than don't try to contact people? and of course that's exactly what Michael did, but he was contacted first.
Jen,
Can I borrow the tape your Mom made and then let Beth see it?
Tim,
I am totally lost and confused over your comments, but let me hang out there. Eventually I'll break down and buy the 1st season and catch up with you all. I'll have a spurt of "loss of conscience" and maybe I'll be near Sam's Club at the same time - it'll be serendipitous then...and it won't be my fault! [I'm really getting good at this! See what happens when you start down the road by blameshifting? ;)]
Ecko is the man. Remember in the episode that was all about the tail section people he stopped talking for, like, 40 days? I'm fairly certain that it was a referance to Mosaic Law. If someone touched a dead body, they were considered unclean and had to remain out of the camp for some time. Ecko stopped talking after he hauled all the dead bodies out of the ocean; maybe his silence was his way of separating himself. And whenever he started telling Locke about Josiah finding Deuteronomy...I was grinning like an idiot.
I think there's more pieces to that film. A lot more. I'm dying to know what "the incident" was. And who do you suppose that was on the other end of the computer talking to Michael? They at least want us to think that it's Walt, but something about that screams, "TOO OBVIOUS!", to me. I'm thinking it may be the people who have Walt, possibly trying to trigger another "incident".
ok, so i'm watching the USC-UCLA game with my friends on Saturday and we all realize that we're huge Lost fans and started talking about all this stuff that we noticed. So now i'm trying to get a couple of them to come on and share their thoughts and their observations. here are a couple of things that we talked about:
In the background of the scene with Kater and her 'father' in the army recruiting station you see Sayid on the TV in the background.
Hot Lips' badge number is THE number.
One of my friends has this theory that all of this, the whole show, is just in Hurley's head while he's in the mental institution. That would totally stink! but its an interesting thought...
what we want to do is have one Saturday where we have a Lost marathon and watch a lot of the first season to try to catch different things now that we know more.
Ian is back! WELCOME!! good to read your input!!
OK, I finally saw this episode as a rerun (and taped THE WHOLE THING, if you want to see it Jen)
Unfortunately, I forgot all the little things you guys said, so I never looked at the TV or the number on the badge, etc. But since I have it taped, I can look!
The thing with the horse...this is bothersome for me because it relates to an off-island incident. It's one thing to lure people with odd sites, or have them see what you KNOW they want to see (like Michael seeing Walt), but how could they have known about that horse?
And how could Kate like the redneck? He IS too much like the drunken step/real father. When she put on that country music I thought she only liked him because of cultural comfort. And he muttered to Jack that he loved Kate - BUT was that him talking or the dead step/real father? Obviously, she's not completely attracted to him if she could kiss the doctor like that! (What have you guys gotten me into? Just listen to me!)
